This week’s Stationers’/London Press Club/Society of Editors debate Press Freedom in a Surveillance State has sparked coverage in The Guardian and Press Gazette.

A full house at Stationers’ Hall saw a panel comprised of Evening Standard home affairs editor Martin Bentham, Heather Brooke, the journalist who exposed the MPs expenses scandal, and Shami Chakrabarti, director of Liberty, discuss issues around privacy, press freedom and government interference.
