Last week saw the London Press Club join forces with the Frontline Club to present a talk on Afghanistan past, present and future by award-winning writer William Dalrymple.

Dalrymple – a recipient of the Wolfson Prize, a Foreign Press Association Media Award and five honorary doctorates and founder and co-director of the Jaipur Literature Festival – discussed his latest book Return of a King: The Battle for Afghanistan, 1839-42.

The talk sold out quickly to LPC and Frontline members. For those unable to be their in person, the Frontline has made available a video of the event (sound quality improves after first few minutes).

This was the sixth sell-out event of the year so far for the London Press Club. Next up is a debate on press freedom 800 years after the Magna Carta on July 13 in aid of the Journalists’ Charity.
