Media students can book places now to attend a forum on breaking into journalism and pick the brains of editorial executives.

A forum and Q&A organised by the London Press Club will be held from 6.30pm on Tuesday 8 October at Northcliffe House in Kensington, the home of the DMGT group – the Daily Mail, Mail on Sunday, Mailonline, Metro – and also of the Evening Standard, the Independent and the i newspaper.

Senior journalists from national newspapers as well as training group executives will answer questions and give advice to media students.

Student journalist tickets – which cost £7.50 – can be purchased here. Some tickets are also available for non-students – details on the booking page.

The following day, on Wednesday 9 October,The Media Society, in association with BBC News, invites media students to attend an evening of insight into the way news programmes are made and who makes them.

This will include seeing a live broadcast of the BBC Six O’clock News, a discussion with the Editor, Presenter and Director of that night’s programme followed by a panel discussion with leading broadcast journalists across television, radio and online – both from the BBC and other commercial channels.

Tickets for the event – also priced £7.50 – are available here.
